About the role:
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring locomotives, rail cars, wagons, plant, and infrastructure are repaired and maintained to the required standard of safety and reliability to ensure the efficient running of freight services.
* Conduct routine and corrective maintenance and fault repair in accordance with prescribed methods and best practices
* Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) requirements, legislative policies, and technical and operational specifications
* Maintain records and documentation related to asset condition, maintenance programs, and costs
* Report actual work performed against the scheduled work program
* Implement and improve work procedures and practices to ensure quality enhancement
About you:
* Electrical licence (mandatory)
* Locomotive and wagon experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills
* Experience in repairing and maintaining locomotives and rolling stock is highly regarded
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and instructions, including the Workplace Health and Safety Act
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a category one rail medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
