Job Description


About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Personal Banker at The Capricornian, a leading community-owned financial institution. As a Personal Banker, you will be the go-to expert for our customers, providing expert advice on home loan retention and offering solutions to meet their needs.

You will write and assess personal loans, ensuring compliance with lending policies. You will also manage Interest Only (IO) and fixed-rate loan expiries, acting as the first point of contact for all mortgage discharge needs.


Key Responsibilities

* Customer Interaction: Respond to customer queries regarding products, services and lending policies, ensuring a positive experience.
* Loan Management: Manage personal lending responsibilities, including writing and recommending personal loans to meet customer needs.
* Retention and Solutions: Retain existing lending members by identifying and recommending tailored solutions and manage the retention process effectively.
* Discharge Management: Be the first point of contact for all discharge-related needs and assist in the discharge process.
* Outbound Calling: Engage with customers through the CRM to maintain relationships and ensure quality interactions.

Requirements

* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a knack for resolving conflicts or problems effectively.
* Sales and Negotiation: Proven experience in lending sales, business development and negotiation.
* Leadership: Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience with the ability to guide and motivate others.
* Financial Product Knowledge: In-depth understanding of lending and insurance products. Experience in managing loan portfolios is desirable.
* Certifications: ASIC Tier II Accreditation and Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking (or willingness to obtain).
* Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM and other IT programs.
