Our client, a leading local government authority, is seeking experienced Environmental Health Officers to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on community health and safety.
About the Role
As an Environmental Health Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with environmental health legislation and promoting sustainable practices. Your responsibilities will include:
* Conducting inspections of food premises, cooling towers, skin penetration facilities, and on-site sewage systems.
* Investigating environmental health complaints and incidents, including noise, air, water, and land pollution.
* Assessing development applications for compliance with environmental health standards.
* Delivering community education programs and health promotion initiatives.
* Preparing reports, correspondence, and educational materials.
* Participating in emergency response and after-hours duties on a rotational basis.
What We're Looking For
* Degree in Environmental Health or a related discipline.
* Current NSW Driver's Licence (Class C).
* Strong knowledge of environmental health legislation and practices.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and the community.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong report-writing skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Flexibility to work outside standard hours when required.
