Project Engineer Role Overview

Job Description:
">
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating on-site construction engineering activities to achieve project time and budget objectives.
">
* Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
* Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports
* Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Site Manager or Project Manager
* Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects
* Contribute to improvements to existing designs
* Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions
* Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards
* Execute working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project
* Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of construction works.
* Analyse and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance reporting
* Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes
* Utilise effective time management skills including sequencing of work of own and resource time management

Required Skills and Qualifications:
">
Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, building construction or equivalent
">
Diploma of project management in engineering science, building, construction or equivalent
">
Chartered engineering status
">
Desirable Experience:
">
Proven experience as a project engineer in the utilities sector, specifically across all major utility services including relocation and protection
">
Strong technical knowledge and understanding of utility infrastructure systems, regulations and industry best practices
">
Sub-contractor management including scope of works creation and tendering
">
Ability to collaborate with site foreman and site staff for project needs and to deliver project updates in daily pre-start meetings
">
Coordination between site and project office with current information, issues and risks. Demonstrated site experience would be highly regarded
">
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with diverse range of stakeholders
">
Familiarisation of AS-5488.1 would be highly regarded
