About the role
Due to growth and further expansion, our client is seeking an Associate level employment lawyer for the Sydney office.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years post-admission experience in employment law.
As this role sits within the commercial and employment team, some experience in commercial advisory work will also be advantageous.
You will be able to demonstrate not only strong technical skills, but also commercial acumen.
Duties and Responsibilities:
You will undertake advisory and dispute management work in the employment/workplace relations area advising on a range of issues such as: award interpretation, employment contracts, workplace policies, restructures, terminations, and employment compliance.
You will also assist with workplace investigations, HR & Compliance Training.
In the commercial law area, you will provide support, advice and assistance to clients with shareholder agreements, services agreements, as well as sales and purchases of businesses.
Key Requirements:
- 3–5 years post-admission experience in employment and workplace relations law
- NSW practising certificate
- Solid experience advising employers on day-to-day workplace issues
- Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage files independently and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-centric approach
- Confidence in advocating for clients in Fair Work Commission and other tribunals (advocacy experience highly valued)
