Key Accountabilities
* Participate in the testing and commissioning of on‐board, trackside, communications and control systems following the Commissioning procedures.
* Support factory and site testing as required.
* Assist in fault identification during set‐to‐work activities and during commissioning.
* Help the lead tester by correlating existing installations to verify that the design inputs match the installation.
* Assist the lead tester in setting‐to‐work, testing and commissioning of signalling equipment.
* Assist the Commissioning Manager or its delegate in continuous improvement of project documentation.
* Support the Construction team where required, including:
o Wiring and termination of signalling equipment on‐board trains, at trackside locations, in communications locations or in control centres.
o Installation of signalling equipment and cables for on‐board, trackside, communications and control centre applications.
o Attendance at project progress meetings as and when required.
o Ensuring that test and commissioning activities are executed in line with Work, Health and Safety requirements of the company and the project.
* Ensure that test and commissioning activities are carried out safely and in compliance with health and safety requirements.
Education and Experience
* Electrical Trade qualification or IRSE Assistant Tester licence (essential).
* 3‐5 years' experience in a similar role in the rail signalling industry with demonstrated capability and skills including:
o Railway equipment and environment.
o Use of test equipment (Digital/Analog multimeters, insulation meters etc.).
o Use of computer‐based test software.
o Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
o Knowledge of incident/accident investigation.
o Knowledge of ERP and configuration management tools.
o Knowledge of database tools.
o Knowledge of tendering processes.
o Knowledge of budgeting and cost estimation.
* Candidate must be willing to travel as required by the project.
