As our Team Leader – Homelessness (internally known as our Consumer Lead), you will enjoy initiating engaging activities to build awesome local partnerships, you turn our spaces into places where people feel welcome, and proud to belong.
You'll create programs that reflect what our consumers really care about, support our neighbourhood hubs, hold a small caseload, and make sure everyone feels safe, supported, and valued from day one.
You'll be a confident, creative people leader who brings energy and clarity to everything you do.
You'll coach your team, encourage fresh ideas, step up when it counts, and stay calm under pressure.
Grounded in recovery and trauma-informed practice, you create safe and supported environments while keeping quality, compliance, and strong practice on track.
A day on the job will see you:
Grow and sustain our neighbourhoods and engagement hubs as vibrant, welcoming spaces
Use insights and consumer feedback to design meaningful, creative programs and activities
Lead, supervise and mentor Engagement Workers and Senior Engagement Workers with energy and care
Partner with the Intake team to ensure smooth, welcoming transitions for new consumers
Step in to provide management support in the absence of the Service Manager
Participate in the on-call roster to support the service when it matters most
Lead calm, professional responses to incidents, including follow and debriefing
Your application will go to the top of our shortlist you have:
A relevant qualification (minimum Cert IV) in Social Sciences, Social Work, or a related field.
Proven experience supporting people impacted by homelessness, mental health, or other complex life challenges.
Sound leadership skills and experience leading a diverse team
Strong understanding of Wellness, Recovery, and Trauma-Informed principles.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with empathy, genuineness, and professionalism.
Confidence to work both collaboratively and independently, with solid problem-solving and digital skills.

About Us
For 60 years, St Bart's has supported people experiencing homelessness and severe and persistent mental health issues as they rebuild their lives.
We started as a small homeless shelter for men and have grown into a progressive and inclusive organisation providing support to hundreds of Western Australian men, women and families across four key service areas.
Our goal is to provide safe, supported accommodation and services to people who need it the most, regardless of background, age, gender or ethnicity.
