Occupational Therapist
We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, resident-focused Occupational Therapy services to both residential and transitional care program customers.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct resident assessments, determine individual capabilities/preferences, and set achievable goals for RAC and TCP customers.
* Support residents in achieving these goals while maximizing their functional capacity for daily activities.
* Prescribe aids and equipment as needed.
* Maintain effective communication with residents, their families, and the multidisciplinary team.
* Supervise and support therapy assistants.
* Address the concerns and requests of residents' families and other caregivers.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
* Identify areas for improvement and use a continuous quality approach to problem-solving.
* Conduct home visits for TCP customers with a view to ensuring safe and timely discharge.
Requirements:
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist.
* Previous experience as an OT in aged care is desirable.
* Proven ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate quality care.
* Empathy for elderly clients and the ability to work effectively with other health professionals and service providers.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Current Australian driver's licence.
