Role
As a Cardiac Radiographer within the Cath Lab, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. You will:
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Be responsible for operating advanced fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging equipment to support procedures such as coronary angiograms, angioplasties, pacemaker insertions, structural heart interventions, and vascular studies
- Ensure the delivery of precise, real-time imaging to assist cardiologists and vascular surgeons in decision-making and patient care
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols, clinical governance, and quality assurance standards
- Provide patient preparation and support, image acquisition and archiving, and equipment troubleshooting
- Demonstrate robust technical proficiency, a commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to work effectively under pressure
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Applied Science - Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner
- 2+ years experience as a Radiographer
- Prior Cath Lab, vascular or interventional radiology experience is highly valued; training opportunities may be available for motivated candidates
- Knowledge of interventional radiography, particularly cardiac, vascular and pain
- Licence to use irradiating apparatus
- Experience using Siemens and/or Philips equipment
- Ability to work flexible hours on an on-call roster
- Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospital infection control requirements
