As Australia's advertising regulator, Ad Standards promotes responsible advertising and gives a voice to community concerns.
We handle complaints independently under the advertising industry codes. With self-regulated advertising content in Australia, Ad Standards administers an independent solution to uphold the rules written by the Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA).
The Role
The Executive Director develops and implements Ad Standards' strategic direction, ensuring the organisation stays ahead of changes in the advertising industry and regulatory environment.
This includes overseeing day-to-day operations, enhancing efficient processes, and managing resources for ongoing sustainability through sound financial stewardship.
Critical to Ad Standards' integrity is steering the Community Panel recruitment, decision making, and effectiveness, as well as maintaining robust governance frameworks and operational policies.
Responsibilities
* Nurturing strong relationships with key stakeholders, including advertisers, media agencies, and regulatory bodies.
* Representing the organisation in industry forums, government consultations, and media engagements.
* Taking ownership of proactive monitoring and developing approaches to maintaining advertising standards in non-traditional media.
* Building awareness of the organisation's critical role with the public.
