Type: Part‐Time | Term: Temporary | Begin: Thursday 03 March 2026 (or earlier) | Hours: 1 day per week, flexible day/hours negotiated with Leadership.
Role Overview
The role involves routine maintenance and support tasks on school grounds, ensuring a clean and safe environment for students and staff.
Duties
* Routine maintenance in consultation with the full‐time groundsperson.
* Ensure grounds are kept to high standard: pick up rubbish, maintain outdoor play areas, reticulation maintenance, cobweb removal, reinstallation of pavement, cleaning gutters and general repairs.
* Repair locks, patch plaster, paint, basic plumbing repairs.
* Work Health and Safety Compliance: monitor and report hazards, conduct basic risk assessments, ensure proper use/storage of tools and chemicals.
* Security and safety checks: perform routine inspection of grounds and buildings.
* Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report faults.
* Assist with deliveries and waste management.
* Assist in scheduling and supervising contractors or tradespeople on site as required.
* Move and assemble furniture.
* Assist with event set up.
* Must be physically fit and mobile; good observation skills.
* Hold a current WA driver's licence.
Selection Criteria
* Strong organisation and time‐management skills.
* Knowledge and experience with maintenance work such as plumbing and basic irrigation repair.
* Knowledge/experience with gardening requirements.
* Teamwork and excellent communication.
* Reliable, flexible, punctual approach.
* Current driver's licence (essential).
* National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check.
* Ability to perform physical requirements of the role.
* Value safety as a priority in the workplace.
