The successful applicants will be part of the Melbourne Veterinary School Diagnostic Laboratory Technical Team providing commercial diagnostic pathology services to clients as well as technical and laboratory support for teaching and research in the Faculty of Science.**Your responsibilities will include:*** Processing blood and body fluid samples, from a wide variety of animal species, for haematological, cytological and biochemical analysis* Operating and maintaining haematology and biochemistry analysers and other equipment.* Receiving and processing veterinary diagnostic samples.* Providing technical assistance for teaching to veterinary pathology**You may be a great fit if:**You have experience in veterinary clinical pathology.**You will also:*** hold a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent tertiary level training relevant to the field of diagnostic veterinary pathology, with 2 or more years' subsequent relevant experience to consolidate the theories and principles learned; or extensive experience (e.g. an associate diploma, normally with at least 4 years' subsequent relevant work experience), leading to either the development of expertise or to the development of broad knowledge in technical fields; or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience* Have demonstrated skills in veterinary diagnostic haematology, cytology and serum biochemistry including detailed knowledge of haematological procedures.* Have experience and demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the safe use, handling, storage and disposal of hazardous substances and biological materials, with knowledge and application of relevant legislative requirements.* Have good written and verbal communication skills plus experience and proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of programs and a Laboratory Information Management System.**Your new team – Melbourne Veterinary School**The Melbourne Veterinary School is a highly ranked veterinary school with a proud tradition of excellence in research, education, and leadership.
