We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our team as Job Mentors. As a Job Mentor, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by guiding and supporting individuals in their career development journey.
This is a full-time position based in Mount Isa. We are looking for passionate and culturally aware mentors who can walk alongside our First Nations jobseekers, offering tailored mentoring, guidance, and advocacy throughout their employment journey.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build strong, respectful relationships with First Nations job seekers
* Provide individualised mentoring and coaching to support work readiness
* Assist clients in identifying career goals and developing job plans
* Connect job seekers with suitable training, employment, and community support services
* Liaise with employers to support sustainable employment outcomes
* Maintain accurate records and comply with contractual obligations
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* Proven experience in mentoring or coaching individuals in a professional setting
* Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or have experience working in a culturally competent manner
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to support First Nations Jobseekers
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently to manage a caseload
* Strong organisational and time management abilities
* Empathy and patience when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
* Knowledge of local industry-specific job requirements and career pathways is an advantage
* Experience in creating personalised job plans for individuals
* Experience in employment services, youth work, community services, or mentoring is highly regarded
* Proficiency in using relevant mentoring tools and software
* Must have Working With Children Check and be able to satisfactorily pass a police check
