Registered Nurse - Renal Unit | Mackay Base Hospital, Queensland
About the Role
Mackay Base Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to support the Renal Unit. The role involves working across both dialysis modalities - Haemodialysis and Peritoneal dialysis - providing safe, high-quality patient care, and supporting patients with chronic kidney conditions.
Requirements
* Clinical currency in dialysis nursing with a minimum of 2 years' experience
* Ability to work across Haemodialysis and Peritoneal dialysis - Mandatory
* Knowledge of ieMR and proficiency in using this system - desirable
* Previous experience working in Australia, QLD Health, or Mackay HHS - desirable
Contract Details
Role: Registered Nurse - Grade 5
Unit/Ward: Renal Unit
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 15 February 2026
Duration: Approximately 6 weeks
Hours: Maximum 80 hours per fortnight (overtime applies after 80 hours p.f.)
Shifts: Rotating 8-hour shifts, as per roster
Facility: Mackay Base Hospital

Bed and Scope
Renal Unit providing both haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis care. Nurses will work rotating 8-hour shifts and participate in patient education, care planning, and treatment delivery.
