Position: Prep Chef – Savoury
Location: Tweed Heads
About Us
At Bread Social, we're known for our commitment to crafting high-quality baked goods and savoury items using the finest Australian-sourced and locally grown produce. With a loyal following and a strong community presence, our focus is on consistency, flavour, and innovation. We're now looking for a passionate Prep Chef to join our team at Tweed Heads — someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and has a genuine passion for quality food.
The Role
This role centres around large-batch production, where consistency, efficiency, and creativity are key. Think prepping and cooking premium ingredients for our savoury range — sandwiches, pies, sausage rolls, and more — with an artisan approach to every batch, rather than a la carte plating.
We're looking for someone who thrives in organised, production-style kitchens, and is passionate about great food & flavours.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce high-volume savoury items with care, consistency, and attention to detail
* Prep and cook ingredients to support our savoury range (sandwiches, sausage rolls, pies, etc.)
* Collaborate on the development of new menu items, with a focus on seasonality and local produce
* Maintain high standards of quality, presentation, and food safety
* Train and support junior team members
* Ensure daily production targets are met efficiently and with minimal waste
* Communicate with both Bread Social sites to manage product levels and stock flow
* Maintain a clean, organised, and positive kitchen environment
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 1 years' experience in a commercial kitchen
* Experience in large-batch or prep-heavy kitchens is a plus
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* A genuine passion for quality, seasonal produce and artisanal food
* Leadership experience and the ability to support junior team members
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet daily production goals
Why Join The Bread Social?
* Be part of a passionate, close-knit team focused on quality and creativity
* Work with the best Australian and local ingredients
* Enjoy a stable, daytime production kitchen environment – no late nights
* Opportunity to grow within a well-respected, values-driven business
