Senior Strategic Planner plays a key role within Council's Strategic Planning Group, working flexibly across teams to deliver high‐quality strategic outcomes. The position leads the assessment of complex planning matters, provides expert planning advice, and contributes to policy, strategies and planning reform initiatives. The role also supports a positive team culture through mentoring, professional leadership, and continuous improvement of planning processes. This role is ideal for an experienced planning professional who thrives on complex work, values collaboration, and enjoys mentoring others while influencing high‐impact planning outcomes.
Remuneration
$109,977.92 - $125,769.28 + 12% Superannuation + Access to Motor Vehicle Lease Back Scheme or Car Allowance
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in town planning or related discipline.
* Extensive experience in LEP/DCP preparation and assessment of complex planning proposals and/or development assessment in Local Government particularly in NSW.
* Excellent knowledge of Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993 and related planning legislation.
* High level critical thinking and problem‐solving abilities with capacity to solve complex and diverse issues in a timely manner.
* Proven ability to analyse and provide clear, high level written and verbal advice and briefings on complex issues and to interact with a broad range of senior staff, technical specialists, community members and other stakeholders.
