Your new role
Reporting to the Manager Environment, this strategic role partners across all divisions to deliver on the organisation's Strategic Plan and Environmental Strategy. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, contractors, tenants, government agencies, non-government organisations, community groups, and traditional owners.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, policies, and government guidelines.
* Leading and supporting environmental projects and initiatives, including scope development, scheduling, and budgeting.
* Conducting inspections, investigations, audits, and reporting under relevant environmental legislation, licences, permits, and approvals.
* Managing environmental data to support decision-making and reporting.
* Delivering environmental training and inductions to a wide range of stakeholders.
* Maintaining the organisation's Environmental Management System to ISO 14001 standards.
What you'll need to succeed
* Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or Environmental Engineering.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in environmental management roles within heavy industry or port environments.
* Strong understanding of environmental legislation, policies, and practices.
* Proven experience in developing and implementing environmental policies and procedures, particularly in dust, water, and waste management.
