About the role
We are seeking a bright and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our growing Accounts team at AWB Co in the heart of Osborne Park, WA. This is a full-time position that will provide you with invaluable experience in the accounting field and the opportunity to contribute to the overall success of the company.
Responsibilities
Support day-to-day financial operations of the company, including data entry, invoicing, and general transaction processing.
Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
Provide backup support to the team during staff absences or leave.
Assist the Accounts Lead as required, including tasks related to financial compliance and insurance.
Maintain and manage key accounts registers, including the Bank Guarantee Register, Retention Register, and Credit Application Register.
Ensure accurate filing and effective record-keeping of all financial documents and related information.
Liaise and coordinate with banks, accountants, and other financial institutions as required.
Communicate with contractors and AWB employees to ensure all necessary documentation is collected upon job completion for timely invoice submission.
Support end-of-month (EOM) closing processes.
Requirements
Minimum: 1 year of experience in an accounting or finance role.
Preferred: Certificate IV in Accounting or Finance.
Proven ability to engage confidently and professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial processes.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Analytical mindset with a creative approach to problem-solving.
Proficient IT skills, including MS Office; advanced Excel skills highly regarded.
Self-motivated with a proactive, "can-do" attitude.
