In this role, you'll:
Join the team responsible for maintaining one of Australia’s most recognisable and historic structures — the Sydney Harbour Bridge. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safe and efficient maintenance and preservation of an iconic piece of national infrastructure. As a Sydney Harbour Bridge Worker Grade 1–2, you will safely undertake a variety of manual, technical and support duties under supervision. Your work will directly contribute to the ongoing upkeep, restoration and operational reliability of the Bridge.
Key Responsibilities may include:
• Preparing steelwork for painting
• Performing surface preparation using a variety of methods
• Priming prepared surfaces
• Carrying out routine maintenance of hand tools and equipment
• Setting up air-lines
• Assisting in the erection and maintenance of containment systems
• Operating established stages and gantries
• Driving Light Rigid (LR) vehicles
• Assisting tradespersons or riggers in the performance of their duties, both onsite and in workshops

About you
The successful candidate will have proven experience in a similar role, ideally gained within a heavy industrial, construction, or maintenance environment. You will demonstrate strong capability in performing routine servicing and maintenance across a diverse range of plant and equipment — including compressors, gantries, dust extractors and vehicles — as well as experience preparing surfaces using hand tools, power tools, or abrasive blasting techniques.
You will also be able to:
• Work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive, supportive work environment
• Communicate clearly and confidently with colleagues, supervisors and trade personnel
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace health and safety, including hazard reporting and active participation in WHS processes
• Comply with environmental guidelines and site environmental management plans
• Hold a current, unrestricted NSW motor vehicle driver’s licence
• Hold a valid Construction Industry White Card
• Hold Working at Heights accreditation (RIIWHS204D – Work Safely at Heights)
• Be willing to undertake any legislated or internal licences, tickets or competency requirements as directed
This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday, within a 38 hour week and a 9 day fortnight. You will also have opportunities for further training and career development.The successful applicant may occasionally be required to work outside regular rostered hours.
The salary for this role is Grade 1–2 Sydney Harbour Bridge Worker, commencing from $1,319.60 per week plus superannuation.
Further to basic salary, other allowances will be paid to this position when performing relevant tasks which includes:
Sydney Harbour Bridge allowance $262 per week ($13,634 per year)
Lead paint removal allowance $3.10 per hour (when you perform relevant tasks)
