About The Role
Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct is a youth custodial facility that accommodates young people. At Malmsbury, cohealth aims to deliver an efficient service within the custodial environment to young people. The Mental Health Nurse will assist in the implementation of a coordinated responsible service that provides support to the General Practitioners in managing clients with severe and complex mental illness. The Mental Health Nurse is required onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and will work a rotating roster across day, afternoon and night shifts. Your Duties Include
* Undertake practice in accordance with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency; conduct thorough mental health assessments and risk assessments
* Provide client treatment and review in accordance with goal directed care plans and GP mental health plans
* Receive new patients who have been transferred to Malmsbury, ensuring continuity of care

Our Ideal Candidate
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and registration as a Registered Nurse with additional mental health qualifications
* Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
* A minimum of two years mental health nursing experience with recent nursing experience in a mental health facility
* Strong belief and personal alignment in cohealth values and mission
