Based in Ballarat, our client is a growing organization and a market leader in their industry. Seeking an Accountant for 3–6 months (potential for permanancy) to start ASAP.
Responsibilities
* Managing the month‐end close process, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations.
* Produce timely and accurate financial statements for the board pack and associated departments reports.
* Property and lease accounting activities in line with AASB16.
* Oversight of fixed asset accounting, including capitalisation, disposals and maintaining the fixed asset register.
* Reviewing work of junior staff and providing technical guidance where needed.
* Review & oversight of GRNI & PPV accounts.
* Review the monthly Balance sheet, account, and sub-ledger reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances as required.
* Assist in year‐end close.
* Assist with rolling cashflow forecast.
* Monitor project budgets v actual costs to variances and investigate cost drivers.
* Assisting with cost review and business partnering for operational departments.
* Calculate monthly BAS lodgements.
* Exposure to fuel tax credits would be advantageous.
* Assist with providing accurate and timely information to support the annual and special purpose audits, in line with audit plans and schedules.
Qualifications
* Working towards CA or CPA.
* 5–7 Years experience in accounting.
* Strong understanding of accounting standards and principles (working knowledge of AASB16 and advantage).
* Experience in Pronto is advantageous.
* Advanced Excel skills including lookups and Pivot tables.
