Hands On
Site Supervisor
with solid experience in managing commercial concrete works to lead site teams and drive successful project outcomes.
As a Hands on Site Supervisor, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of commercial concrete sites - including formwork, reinforcement, and high-spec concrete pours. You will strive for above standard quality in all aspects of works with a focus on achieving zero re-works and defects. You'll work closely with project managers, clients, and trades to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
About YOU
Our client is looking for a skilled and dedicated specialised concreter with extensive experience across a range of complex concrete works including slab infills, structural pours, detailed formwork, reinforcement, and high-spec finishes. You will have worked on commercial projects, consistently delivering quality workmanship under tight deadlines. With a strong understanding of site safety protocols, technical drawings, and the full concreting process from preparation to finishing.
Duties & Responsibilities
Direct and supervise all work activities on site
Plan and sequence daily tasks and communicate priorities to the team
Problem solving when required
Create and adjust short range programs to match project goals and site conditions
Procure materials, equipment, and labour to complete daily tasks and to ensure milestones are achieved
Address any immediate resource shortfalls by supplementing labour through subcontractors in consultation with the Operations Manager and Clients Calendar (Neo Intelligence)
Proactively communicate equipment and labour requirements to management to ensure timely and accurate resource allocation
Set out works ensuring concrete levels are correct during pours and all formwork is in correct position and braced adequately
Identify concrete mixes and determine correct equipment and placement procedures to achieve specified finish
Complete daily diary to include: - employee time records, weather conditions, subcontractors working for client, general daily description that includes activities performed, delays incurred, changes directed by Client, deliveries received, hired items etc.
Take photographic records of all completed reinforcement prior to concrete and areas where issues have occurred, as well as daily photos to compliment daily diary
Verify deliveries against dockets, and submit receipts, dockets, and invoices for all deliveries and purchases, to the office
Attend subcontractor coordination meetings and site safety walks, action required items, and report back to management
Conduct daily prestart meetings and regular toolbox talks
Carry out daily safety and equipment maintenance checks
Monitor stock of sundries and equipment; re-order proactively
Ensure all workers or Clients sub-contractors are site inducted and are PPE compliant
Manage labour to minimise overtime; notify management in advance when overtime is required.
Participate in safety planning and risk assessments with management and client representatives Site Supervisor
Complete all relevant Inspection and test Plans (ITP's), Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC) documentation, including pre-pour checklists
Willingly perform all aspects of trade labour works, including formwork, steelfixing, and concrete placement when required.
Skills & Experience Required
Proficient understanding of construction plans, sequencing, and technical drawings
Thorough knowledge of WHS legislation, on-site safety procedures and company safety requirements
Skilled in setting out concrete works and understanding tolerance and finish specifications.
Familiar with Quality Assurance processes including material verification and photographic evidence requirements for proof of correct work procedures.
Experienced in managing subcontractors and day-to-day site logistics.
Strong understanding of resource planning and site productivity management.
Software Proficiency: - Competence in construction management and communication software such as Procore, Aconex, Hammertech, Neo Intelligence, Hilti On-Track, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and Premier.
