This role sits within a high-performing engineering team working on cloud-native solutions using Java, AWS, and React, with a strong pipeline of long-term work and extensions.
What you'll be working on
Designing and building backend services using modern Java (Java 17+) and Spring Boot within a microservices architecture
Developing and consuming RESTful APIs and event-driven services hosted on AWS
Building and contributing to modern React applications using hooks and functional components
Working with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, SNS, and SQS
Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform and Git-based workflows
Collaborating with product managers, architects, and engineers to deliver scalable, secure solutions
What you'll bring
Strong commercial experience as a Senior Java Engineer in enterprise environments
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application design
Solid React experience delivering production-grade front-end applications
Experience working with microservices, APIs, and distributed systems
Strong communication skills and experience working in agile teams
Background in financial services or large regulated organisations is advantageous
