Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is the major health provider in the Central Hume region with an extensive range of acute, sub-acute, aged care and community services.
Applications are sought from experienced Registered Nurses for the Northeast Health Wangaratta Community Palliative Care Service. The Palliative Care Community Health Nurse functions autonomously and collaboratively to provide a comprehensive holistic clinical assessment and implementation of a care plan based upon a client's health status. They will receive support, guidance and mentoring through the multidisciplinary care team.
The Northeast Health Palliative Care Service operates 7 days a week within NHW Community Nursing Services working closely with clients, families and Primary Health Providers within the Rural City of Wangaratta and Alpine Shire. The Northeast Health Wangaratta Palliative Care specialist service works within a multidisciplinary framework to provide care for people of all ages, at any stage of a life limiting illness, with the treatment aim of comfort care and quality of life.

Wangaratta has a population of approximately 30,000 and our catchment serves a community of around 100 000 throughout the northeast.
An easy 2 ½ hours drive on the Hume freeway from Melbourne and less than an hour to Albury airport with direct flights to most of the large Australian cities.
