We are partnering with a national leader in the funeral industry to recruit a senior, hands-on Operations Manager for a fully operational site in Hobart. You'll take ownership of day-to-day operations, compliance, logistics and team coordination, ensuring services are delivered seamlessly, safely and to the highest standards. This role is not customer-facing in the traditional sense - it's about making sure everything behind the scenes runs flawlessly so families receive exceptional care. The Role As Operations Manager, you will be accountable for the operational backbone of the site. You'll lead operational teams, manage resources, oversee facilities and assets, and ensure policies, procedures and safety standards are consistently upheld. You will work closely with other leaders on site and across the broader network to drive efficiency, collaboration and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Coordinate funeral teams, resources and supplies Liaise with coordination teams to manage staffing levels, rosters Oversee transfers, viewings and operational activities when required Manage site assets, vehicles, equipment and facilities, including repairs and maintenance Establish and manage local supplier and trade relationships Oversee purchasing, stock control and consumables Manage site administration including paperwork, custody of valuables, petty cash and imprest Ensure compliance with WHS and injury management standards Drive operational improvements, change initiatives and cross-site collaboration About You Proven experience in operations management, logistics or site leadership Strong people leadership skills Highly organised with a process-driven mindset Comfortable leading compliance, safety, assets and administration Collaborative by nature and confident working across multiple teams Resilient, practical and solutions-focused Funeral industry experience is not essential - full training and onboarding is provided.
