The opportunity The Principal Investigator/Auditor role will require you, as the most experienced member of a team, to independently undertake the most complex and sensitive investigation/audit activities in the Investigations Ballarat Branch in accordance with approved SRO compliance activities, and to mentor and provide guidance to less senior members of the team. Key responsibilities Reporting to a Team Leader, you will be required to: * Assist the team leader with managing and leading a large team of Investigators. * Conduct sensitive and/or complex investigations and audits, individually or as part of a team, across multiple revenue lines and conducting sensitive and complex negotiations with customers to achieve outcomes consistent with SRO objectives. * Conduct complex research and provide expert advice on complex state taxation matters as well as contributing to the planning of strategic compliance activities. Who we are looking for We would love to hear from you if you are someone with: * A record of achievement as an Investigator in a tax or revenue field with advanced expertise in applying a range of investigative techniques. * Project management experience in leading, managing and reporting on complex investigation activities. * Highly developed communication skills to explain complex information to stakeholders and * Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to contribute to continuous improvement, work practice reform and policy development. * A tertiary qualification or demonstrated commitment to tertiary studies in a relevant discipline (highly desirable).
