About the role: Victoria Police's Financial Services Department is seeking to recruit a suitably experienced Senior Shared Services Manager to lead and manage the Shared Services team. Reporting to the Executive Director (Chief Finance Officer), the Senior Shared Services Manager will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality, timely, and compliant financial and administrative services—including Bill to Cash, Purchasing Support, Accounts Payable, and Treasury functions—to internal stakeholders.We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with extensive experience in managing large-scale shared services or finance environments. This is an integral role supporting day-to-day operations and strategic financial reforms. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in leading teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment. Your duties will include: * Lead and manage the Shared Services team to ensure effective, high-quality, and timely delivery of financial and administrative services, including Bill to Cash, Purchasing Support, Accounts Payable, and Treasury functions. * Translate organisational strategy into meaningful plans and objectives for the branch, clearly defining expectations and monitoring performance. * Oversee the provision of compliant financial services, proactively identifying and managing emerging issues and risks for stakeholders. * Collaborate with internal clients to support frontline service delivery, provide authoritative advice, and drive continuous improvement in processes. * Ensure Victoria Police operate in accordance with the Financial Management Act 1994 and related government standards. * Act as a key contact for the Department of Treasury and Finance, Department of Justice and Community Safety, and the Victorian Auditor General's Office, focusing on customer service. * Lead and contribute to strategic financial operations, including the development of business plans and service delivery options to support financial reforms. * Oversee the preparation of technical reports and high-level briefs to support accounting, financial, and administrative obligations, informing decision-making processes. About You: The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: * Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams within a large-scale shared services or finance environment. * Significant expertise in delivering quality business outcomes aligned with the strategic direction of the organisation. * Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to critically analyse trends, issues, and risks. * Comprehensive knowledge of governance and administrative arrangements associated with government processes. * Extensive experience with financial systems and shared services practices, including process improvement and change management. * Ability to formulate and communicate policy options and recommendations, and problem solve to support service delivery. * Proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes. * A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to organisational values and codes of conduct.
