Job Overview
This is a permanent full-time position that involves processing the release of personal health information for medico-legal purposes.
As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the efficient operation of our department by managing requests for medical reports, summaries of injuries, and completion of deceased paperwork/records.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing medico-legal requests and subpoenas
* Collaborating with police and mortuary teams
* Ensuring sensitive health information is handled with precision, empathy, and integrity
* Contributing to the efficient operation of the Clinical Information Department
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a clerical role within a healthcare or legal environment
* Completion of a medical terminology course or willingness to complete the course
* Ability to work independently with excellent teamwork skills
* Effective organisation and communication skills
* Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in a high-volume environment
* Initiative and problem-solving skills
* Good understanding of legislation regarding the release of information and patient privacy
* Experience in using Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of computerised patient administration systems including electronic medical record systems
