In this role, you will provide comprehensive dental services and play an important part in maintaining the oral health and operational readiness of Defence members.

About The Lavarack Health Centre
Located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia, Lavarack Health Centre supports the Operational Deployment Force and provides facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment.
The health centre delivers a wide range of services including primary medical, underwater medicine, surgical outpatient care, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical services to approximately 8,000 personnel.
The facility also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward, providing comprehensive healthcare services on base. Standard operating hours are generally 0700–1630 Monday to Friday.
What You’ll Do
Deliver preventative and emergency dental care including examinations, restorations and minor oral surgeryPerform procedures such as x-rays, extractions, root canal treatments and prosthodontic managementWork collaboratively with dental, medical and nursing teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient careSupport the oral health and dental readiness of Defence personnel
What You Bring
Current, unrestricted registration as a Dentist (General) with AHPRAMinimum 2 years’ full-time post graduate clinical chair-side experience within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent)Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificationEvidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with AHPRA requirementsAustralian Citizenship to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance
