Tech Together delivers small, interest-based social programs for young people with disabilities (9-18+), using activities such as gaming, LEGO, and technology to build connection, confidence, and social skills.
We are looking for a Program Mentor to support our social group sessions and help create a calm, engaging, and supportive environment for participants.
About the Role
You will work alongside the facilitator to support small group sessions (3–4 participants), helping young people engage in activities and connect with others in a positive way.
This is a supporting role — you will not be running sessions independently.
Key Responsibilities
* Socialise and build rapport with participants (Most important)
* Support participants to engage in activities such as:
* PC gaming
* LEGO
* Technology-based projects
* Basic electronics activities (if confident, not required)
* Encourage inclusion, communication, and positive behaviour
* Assist the facilitator in maintaining a calm and structured environment
* Help with session setup and pack down
About You
You may be:
* Studying or working in education, youth work, allied health, or disability support
* Interested in gaming, technology, or creative activities
* Calm, patient, and able to connect with young people
* Reliable and consistent
* Already working in the disability sector or have experience working young people
Experience is helpful but not required — the right attitude is most important.
Things to consider
* Casual paid position
* Small group setting (4-8 participants)
* You will be supported and supervised at all times
* This role does not involve independent supervision of participants
* Opportunities for increased hours as programs grow
* Applicants must hold (or be willing to obtain) a Working With Children Check and may be required to get a NDIS screening check.
Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 per week
