Key Position Summary
The selected candidate will work as a skilled tradesperson to perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems, ensuring the smooth operation of the facility.
Main Responsibilities
* Maintenance Activities: Conduct routine service inspections, undertake planned maintenance tasks, and effect repairs to various mechanical systems.
* System Performance Monitoring: Diagnose faults and implement repairs in a timely manner to support operational activities.
* Maintenance Logs: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and relevant engineering documentation.
* Facility Maintenance: Ensure that facilities including store, workshop, and machine shop are well-maintained and meet required standards.
* Collaboration: Work effectively with technical and non-technical staff to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant Certificate or Diploma in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting / machining, diesel mechanic, boilermaker/welder) with at least 2 years' experience.
* Demonstrated industrial experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical systems including open gearing, gearboxes, hydraulics, diesel generators, and mechanical plant equipment.
* Able to work autonomously as part of a multi-disciplinary team and demonstrate effective communication skills.
* Ability to develop safety documentation and commitment to safe work practices.
* Good written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy.
* Willingness to travel for training and professional development or to assist with equipment repairs.
