We’re looking for an Accountant to join our Finance team and support accurate financial reporting, month‑end processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this hands‑on role is well suited to an experienced Accountant who values accuracy, enjoys working across reporting and reconciliations, and is keen to contribute to improving finance systems and processes in a purpose‑driven organisation.
You’ll play an important role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting compliance and funding obligations, and working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting & Month‑End: Support timely month‑end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and preparation of management reports.
* Reconciliations & Accuracy: Complete balance sheet, general ledger, bank, and credit card reconciliations to ensure accurate and reliable financial records.
* Budget & Variance Analysis: Prepare budget vs actual variance analysis and assist with financial commentary to support informed decision‑making.
* Transactional Finance Support: Perform debtor receipting and provide support to Accounts Payable to ensure smooth day‑to‑day finance operations.
* Grant & Funding Reporting: Contribute to grant acquittals and financial reporting to funding bodies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with funding agreements.
* Systems & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and support automation, digitisation, and reporting improvements.
What You’ll Bring
* Qualifications: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with CPA/CA eligibility or progression preferred.
* Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in management accounting; experience in the not‑for‑profit or funded sector is highly regarded.
* Technical Capability: Strong understanding of accounting standards, GST and BAS, and compliance requirements in an NFP context.
* Systems & Processes: Experience using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel, with Business Central experience highly regarded.
* Communication & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
* Pre-Requisites: Full work rights in Australia, with the ability to obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
