We're looking for a skilled and confident leader to manage financial operations and support a high-performing team across Treasury, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Travel.
In this role, you'll report to the Director of Financial Operations, provide expert financial advice, and oversee day-to-day activities across key finance functions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee financial operations across multiple areas
* Lead, supervise and support a small finance team
* Provide expert advice and technical knowledge in accounting
* Interpret and apply financial legislation and policy to resolve moderately complex issues
* Build strong relationships and respond to internal and external enquiries
* Manage and prioritise team workloads, ensuring quality and timeliness
* Use financial systems (e.g. CBMS, TechnologyOne, Excel) to analyse and reconcile data
* Maintain and update policies and procedures, and lead process improvements
* Prepare and approve end-of-month tasks such as:
* Reconciliations
* Journals
* Executive and management reporting
What we're looking for:
* Proven experience in financial operations management
* Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent understanding of Australian Government financial legislation and compliance (e.g. PGPA Act)
* High attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication
* Confident using financial systems and software
* Able to work independently, prioritise effectively, and manage change
* Proactive with a continuous improvement mindset
