NDIS Support Worker Job Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate and engaging support worker to assist a participant in their daily life. The ideal candidate will be creative, patient, and enjoy exploring new activities while providing gentle encouragement and support.
Roster:
* Work on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays with 4-hour shifts starting at 9:00 AM or 10:00 AM.
Responsibilities:
* Social & Community Engagement:
o Support the participant in visiting places of interest such as pet shops, museums, libraries, and cinemas.
o Encourage and explore creative activities together, including art, crafts, and flower arranging.
o Support the participant in visiting Stepping Stones Clubhouse to participate in group-based social services.
o Assist the participant with horse riding, hydrotherapy, and podiatry/dietitian appointments if they choose to engage.
* Building Independence & Skills:
o Help the participant with meal preparation and cooking activities, including attending a weekly cooking class.
o Support them in learning computer literacy and researching how to sell their handmade jewellery.
* Personal & Domestic Assistance:
o Offer to accompany the participant for a haircut or pedicure (self-funded).
o Assist with laundry and bed linen changes, including putting linen on the line.
o Make the participant's bed at the start of each service and provide light domestic assistance as needed.
Requirements:
* Female support worker aged 38-58 years old.
* Experience supporting NDIS participants, particularly those with psycho-social disabilities.
* Compassionate and patient nature, with the ability to explore new activities and encourage independence.
* Certificate III in Individual Support (or higher).
* NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
* First Aid & CPR Certification.
* Valid driver's license and reliable car for community access.
* Current Federal Police Check.
