Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled IT professional to join our team as a System Technician. This is a full-time opportunity that requires shift work from Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting preventative and corrective maintenance and installation of simulation systems, as well as supporting the Bridge Simulator. They will also diagnose faults in electronic systems and audio equipment, and collaborate with RAN personnel to understand, log and analyze problems.
This role requires excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to show initiative and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have qualifications in an IT discipline or Electrical Engineering background, minimum Diploma level, and demonstrated experience working with Computer networks and IT systems.
About the Role:
The System Technician will report to the Technical Team Lead and work closely with Royal Australian Navy (RAN) instructional staff. They will be responsible for conducting daily system checks, performing routine maintenance tasks, and responding to technical issues as they arise.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with non-IT stakeholders to understand, analyze and solve problems. They will also be flexible with their availability, covering shifts from 6am to midnight, Monday to Friday.
