THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Child Protection Practitioner to join our After Hours program on an ongoing, full time rostered basis, based in Morwell.

In the After-Hours team you will work to a structured rostered model and provide response and emergency outreach visits as required to all child protection matters that are received outside core business hours; at night, on weekends and on public holidays and will be entitled to applicable penalty rates and allowances.

In this role you will be responsible for supervising team members in daily tasks through a structured and supportive learning program in addition to managing a case load. You will work closely with the Team Manager to strengthen case practice and provide effective service delivery to bring about the changes necessary to ensure the safety, stability and development of children and young people.

Essential to your success will be a recognised Social Work or Welfare related qualification / or equivalent as well as a strong sense of social justice and an understanding that families are complex, with their own unique histories.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

* Risk assessment and analysis : further develops and coach's others in their understanding of risk assessment and analysis
* Case planning review and case management : provides case planning advice, guidance and support to others; directly supports and inputs into cases where there is unacceptable risk to the child
* Critical inquiry : leads planning, review and management of issues in line with best practice principles and legislative requirements
* Developing others : facilitates staff coaching, mentoring and practice development and provides leadership; offers secondary consultation and live supervision
