Role details
The Logistics Fleet Controller reports to the Logistics Fleet Manager and will play a critical role in managing our fleet of company trucks and subcontractor drivers who transport our bricks and masonry products. The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate distribution, monitor the transportation department's efficiency and performance, and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce errors, and minimise costs. You will coordinate, schedule and allocate workloads to ensure customer orders are delivered accurately and on time, while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards. This role also involves positively influencing the team and communicating the business's key strategies in an engaging and supportive way.
Responsibilities
* Plan and allocate daily truck routes and deliveries efficiently.
* Schedule drivers based on capacity, demand, and customer needs.
* Coordinate pickups and deliveries across Perth and WA regions.
* Liaise with drivers to ensure timely job completion.
* Communicate with customers and drivers to provide updates and resolve issues.
* Manage calls, emails, and bookings with accurate data entry.
* Monitor fleet performance and schedule servicing.
* Maintain strong relationships with teams, drivers, and customers.
* Report subcontractor training gaps for improvement.
* Log and escalate feedback and delivery issues for improvement.
Skills and Experience
* Experience in transport, fleet control, or scheduling.
* Strong knowledge of Perth metro and WA regions.
* Able to work independently and in a team.
* Skilled in planning and organising driver runs.
* Proactive, organised, and quick problem-solver.
* Comfortable with new technologies.
* Clear written and verbal communication.
