Senior QA Engineer (Cypress | Playwright | API Testing | SQL)
6-Month Contract | $800‑$850/day (Incl. Super) | Brisbane Hybrid
A major enterprise transformation program is scaling up, and we're looking for two Senior QA Engineers to join high-performing delivery squads. This is a hands‑on role where you'll own quality across web, mobile, and API layers, working closely with engineering, product, and delivery teams to ensure robust, reliable, high‑scale digital products.

What You'll Do
* Review user stories, requirements, and technical designs to ensure clarity and testability
* Create detailed test plans, test cases, and regression suites
* Execute functional, integration, API, and regression testing
* Perform backend validation using SQL
* Conduct API testing using tools like Postman/SoapUI
* Update and execute automation scripts across Cypress, Playwright, WebdriverIO or similar
* Collaborate closely with developers, BAs, and Product to resolve defects quickly
* Manage defects via Jira + Zephyr, ensuring clear documentation and traceability
* Support the setup and maintenance of test environments and test data
* Contribute to continuous improvement across testing practices, tooling, and ways of working
What You Bring
* 8–10+ years as a hands‑on QA/Test Analyst or QA Engineer
* Strong experience across functional, regression, integration and E2E testing
* Practical experience with automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, WebdriverIO, etc.)
* Solid API testing skills and the ability to validate complex scenarios via Postman/SoapUI
* Strong SQL skills for backend and data integrity validation
* Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum squads and contributing to sprint ceremonies
* Excellent communication skills + attention to detail
* Experience in high‑volume, customer‑facing digital platforms (banking, telco, wagering, retail, gaming, etc.) highly regarded
