About the role
As a Ranger, you will report to the Bendigo Ranger Team Leader to provide efficient and effective parks services at a district level in accordance with the Regional Action Plan. You will be accountable for the delivery of small projects and day to day on ground works including but not limited to maintenance and repair of a wide range of park assets within the Bendigo parks and reserves footprint. In this role you will also assist other rangers with their projects where you gain valuable experience within the park management sector.
You will also work closely with the local Parks Victoria Djaara Rangers with the six joint managed parks which includes Greater bendigo National Park, Hepburn Regional Park, Kara Kara National Park, Kooyoora State Park, Paddy's Ranges State Park and Wehla Nature Conservation Reserve.
We're looking for someone with:
* Experience in self-management, customer service, communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
* Demonstrated ability in practical problem solving in field work or similar hands-on work.
* Ability to relate to and engage with the public - customer service and community engagement.
* Experience and knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to use bespoke applications.
