About Sport and Recreation

The Sport and Recreation team promotes participation and achievement in sport and recreation to support a healthy lifestyle for all Western Australians through physical activity. It provides strategic leadership and support for the sport and active recreation sectors with a focus on inclusion and accessibility.

This work extends into regional areas where the team contributes to a broad range of community outcomes in partnership with state and local government agencies, regional sporting associations, peak bodies, and community clubs to support liveable regional communities.


About the role

This is your opportunity to stretch your skills and assist with the development of Sport and Recreation facilities and service delivery in the Pilbara region.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced person to fill the position of Regional Officer. This role is full time permanent however the Department may consider a job share arrangement. This recruitment process will also identify a pool of applicants that can be used for a similar role within the next 12 months if required.

The right person will assist with developing and maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders to lead the delivery of quality services and facilities throughout the region. The role will also undertake research, planning and implementation on various projects relative to the delivery of sport and recreation and provide advice and guidance to local government, clubs & associations and the general community on sport and recreation trends, issues and opportunities.

* Government Regional Officer Housing (GROH) - Housing, subject to eligibility and availability

We have one permanent, full time (75hrs p/f) position available.
