Overview
We are working with a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy delivering civil, structural, mechanical and electrical solutions across mining, heavy industrial and renewables sectors. With a strong reputation for practical and sustainable engineering, this team partners closely with clients to optimise asset performance, safety and productivity.
Location
Based in Townsville, you will lead the structural function while remaining hands‐on in design delivery across full project lifecycles – from early investigations and concept design through to detailed design, construction and commissioning. You will engage directly with clients both on site and in a back‐office design capacity, providing clear communication and trusted technical advice. Projects are delivered from start to completion, offering end‐to‐end involvement and accountability.
Role Summary
This is a key leadership role within a growing engineering group, offering the opportunity to shape technical direction, mentor engineers and influence business growth. Salary negotiable based on experience. Relocation assistance within Australia is available.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor the structural engineering team
* Deliver end‐to‐end structural design solutions
* Undertake structural analysis and design calculations
* Coordinate drafting resources and review deliverables
* Manage project budgets, schedules and resources
* Develop scopes of work, proposals and technical studies
* Contribute to capital cost estimates and risk assessments
* Conduct site visits, inspections and client engagement
* Support construction and commissioning activitiesEnsure Safety in Design principles across all projects
About you
* Structural Engineer with significant industry experience
* RPEQ (Structural) certification is essential
* Strong background in Australian heavy industry projects
* Proven capability delivering steel and concrete designs
* Confident working on site and engaging directly with clients
* Effective communicator with consulting experience
* Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and manage workloads
