Located approximately 35 minutes north of Launceston in the Pipers River region of Tasmania, House of Arras/Handpicked Wines is a medium sized winery sourcing fruit from across Tasmania, including the Derwent Valley, East Coast, Coal Valley and Tamar Valley. The focus is upon producing high quality sparkling and table wines from premium hand-picked fruit, ensuring the expression of varietal character and retention of cool climate acidity.
An opportunity has arisen for a Casual Vineyard Operator to join our Pipers River Vineyard team.
Role responsibilities and requirements include:
- Commitment to maintaining the vineyard using organic and sustainable practices aligning with our Organic & Sustainability Certification requirements
- Operation of all vineyard machinery including tractor, forklift, mechanical pruners, sprayers and harvest operations with proven experience
- Trellis work, irrigation repairs, pruning and general duties across all aspects of the growth and harvest cycle.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn
- Ability to work flexible and at times extended hours over peak work periods, such as spray season and harvest.
- Team player with ability to also work independently, use initiative and follow directions
- Commitment to safe work practices and working knowledge of health & safety requirements
- Valid C Class Driver's License is essential
- Valid HR / HC Licence, Forklift License, Chemcert accreditation is preferred
- Australian Citizen/Resident or a valid visa with permission to work
- First aid training certificate is desirable but not essential
