Your new role
In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Assessing and planning individualised care based on residents' physical, emotional, and clinical needs
* Administering interventions such as medications, wound care, and treatments according to care plans
* Monitoring and reporting residents' conditions, including vital signs and treatment responses, to the medical team
* Promoting health by educating residents and families on wellness and illness prevention
* Coordinating care by collaborating with doctors, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals
* Providing emotional support to residents and their families, responding with empathy and professionalism
* Delivering dementia-informed care, adapting approaches to support cognitive impairment and behavioural needs
* Managing wounds, including pressure injuries and complex wound care procedures
* Supporting end-of-life care, offering compassionate guidance and comfort to residents, and loved ones
* Assessing and managing pain, ensuring residents' comfort through appropriate clinical interventions
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will possess the following:
* A good understanding of contemporary clinical practice and leadership in a residential, acute care, or community setting
* Excellent communication skills and confidence to lead and actively contribute to a team
* Demonstrated high-level organisational and time management skills
* 1 year of experience in acute care; aged care experience beneficial
* Ability to problem-solve, negotiate, mediate, and resolve conflict
* Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
* Excellent written documentation and assessment skills
* Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards
* Endorsement by AHPRA (essential)
* Bachelor of Nursing Science
