We are seeking an experienced F5 DNS Engineer to support a large-scale telecommunications network environment in Sydney. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available DNS and traffic management solutions using F5 BIG-IP platforms, ensuring optimal performance, resilience, and scalability of critical network services in a fast-paced, carrier-grade environment. Key Responsibilities Design, configure, and manage F5 BIG-IP DNS (GTM) and LTM solutions Maintain and optimise DNS infrastructure, including zone management and resolution performance Implement traffic steering, load balancing, and failover strategies across distributed environments Provide L2/L3 support for DNS and network-related incidents, including troubleshooting complex issues Collaborate with network, security, and platform teams to integrate DNS with broader infrastructure Support high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery mechanisms Perform capacity planning and performance tuning for DNS platforms Develop automation scripts (Python, Ansible, etc.) to improve operational efficiency Participate in change management, deployments, and on-call support rotations Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP DNS (GTM) and LTM Solid understanding of DNS protocols, architecture, and troubleshooting Experience in telecommunications or large-scale enterprise environments Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, load balancing concepts) Experience working with Linux/Unix systems Exposure to automation tools such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform Familiarity with cloud-based DNS environments is a plus Knowledge of DNS security concepts is required Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, or Grafana is advantageous No work visa sponsorships available.
