Financial Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper
This is a pivotal role within the firm, responsible for overseeing the financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the firm's financial health and success.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and cash flow management.
* Prepare and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
* Oversee trust account management and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Prepare and analyse financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
* Manage payroll and superannuation obligations.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
* Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
* Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in financial accounting and bookkeeping, preferably within a law firm.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
* Relevant accounting qualifications preferred (e.g., CPA, CA, or equivalent).
