Mental Health Services
Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service provides mental health services in Rockhampton, with administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016 and acute adult inpatient facilities. Additionally, there is an Adult Step Up Step Down facility located in Gladstone and a Community Care Unit in Rockhampton.
The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services collaborate with local hospitals, other mental health and alcohol and other drugs teams, primary health, community, and private sector providers to reduce symptoms of mental illness and facilitate recovery.
About the Role:
As a Peer Worker, you will utilise your personal lived experience of mental illness to model recovery strategies under general direction. You will facilitate the development, planning and delivery of support services to consumers of the mental health service.
About You:
* A genuine occupational requirement for this position is a personal lived experience of caring for someone with a lived experience of mental illness and recovery.
* Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or equivalent qualification.
* Experience working within a public mental health service or NGO sector.
* Ability to advocate for consumer perspective to identify service improvement.
* Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate psycho-education and groups for mental health service consumers.
What We Offer:
Total remuneration value up to $57,088 p.a. includes:
* An hourly rate between $45.81 - $50.46 p.h.
