About Capital Pathology

Capital Pathology is a quality driven pathology service provider, focusing on professional excellence, reliability, excellent customer service and business integrity. Our main laboratory is based in Deakin, Canberra and we can provide employees with the opportunity to become part of an Australian wide medical testing laboratory network focused on leadership and expert advice. We provide services to medical practitioners, private hospitals and aged care facilities in both the ACT and regional surrounds (Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains and South Coast NSW).

The Opportunity

We have a full time opportunity available in Canberra for an enthusiastic, self-motivated people to work as part of our dedicated team providing quality customer service. We are looking for dedicated individuals who can interact well with people, demonstrate high level verbal and written communication skills, have a passion for delivering quality outcomes for customers and the organisation.

Day to Day duties include:

· Perform routine Histological techniques (macroscopic examination of tissue)

· Specimen dissection of tissue

· Embedding of tissue samples

· Microscopic slide and stain preparation

· Immunohistochemistry staining

· Supervision of staff within the department

· Promote and display our values at all times

· Working rotating shifts through afternoon/evenings, morning and weekends

Applicants should possess the following:

· Relevant qualifications (Bachelor of Medical Science or equivalent) or Diploma in Pathology/Laboratory Testing

· Excellent interpersonal (communication) skills

· A positive attitude

· Ability to be flexible and adaptable

· Well-developed critical thinking and problem solving skills

· Excellent attention to detail and time management skills

· A valid Driver's License and flexibility to travel to various clinics

· You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work
