This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in safeguarding the integrity of ASIC's administered revenue by supporting debt management, revenue collection and financial compliance activities across the organisation.

* Location: Traralgon
* Salary: ASIC 3 ($81,396 - $93,303 depending on experience) plus 15.4% superannuation

The team

The role sits within Finance Operations, part of Enterprise Services, which also includes Procurement, Property and Contracts, Performance Reporting and Planning, and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program.

Finance Operations provides critical financial services and advice across ASIC, including administered and departmental finance, accounts payable and receivable, taxation, unclaimed monies and industry funding. The team plays a vital role in ensuring ASIC meets its financial management, compliance and reporting obligations.

The role

Key responsibilities include:

* Analysing and preparing financial and statistical data to support administered revenue operations
* Managing and reconciling receivables, including monitoring outstanding debts and collection activities
* Applying sound judgement and delegated decision-making in relation to payment plans and waiver recommendations
* Preparing reports on debt profiles, collection rates and workload
* Supporting audit processes, including responses to internal audits and ANAO requests
* Assisting with escalated matters and complaints, including those from the Ombudsman and Members of Parliament
* Reviewing and updating guidance materials, FAQs and standard responses to support external stakeholder compliance
* Supporting projects, system upgrades and user acceptance testing activities
* Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and service delivery

You will work collaboratively across ASIC, modelling our values of Accountability, Professionalism and Teamwork, while taking reasonable care for health and safety in the workplace.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

* Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly
* Experience managing internal and external stakeholders and responding to enquiries professionally
* The ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures
* Sound time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
* Strong capability in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with financial systems and data

Experience in debt management, advanced Excel capability with large data sets, strong written communication skills, a qualification in finance or a related discipline, and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders is highly beneficial for this role.

You'll be someone who enjoys working with data, values collaboration, and is motivated to contribute to the integrity of public sector financial management.
