A career opportunity has become available with one of WA's leading Waste Management companies. We are a mid-sized company that operate waste collection vehicles and resource recovery facilities.
This is a hands-on role that involves actively working in the field rather than spending most of the time at a desk. It requires practical involvement in day-to-day operations and tasks, with a strong focus on being present on-site to support team activities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth execution. This is not a typical office-based position; instead, it suits someone who enjoys being physically engaged in the work environment and thrives in dynamic, on-the-ground settings.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Overseeing day to day operations of drivers runs
* Supervising the operational delivery of customers
* Consulting with line management in the development and management of operational targets
* Ensuring all pre-start, post-run, and minor day to day maintenance tasks are carried out on all equipment
* Leading a high level of customer service and driving operational efficiencies within the team
* Managing labour efficiencies
* Strategically managing staffing rosters and leave approvals to always ensure adequate staff coverage.
* Ensuring minimum disruption to operations through effective coordination and scheduling of operational activities
* Support the leadership team in managing complex operational matters.
* Support staff training, onboarding, recruitment and performance management.
* Support and endorse the West Tip Purpose, Vision, Mission and Values.
* Support and endorse the West Tip HSEQ Management system and understand supervisors HSEQ responsibilities.
To be eligible for this position you must have:
* Heavy Rigid Licence (essential)
* Experience as an operations supervisor or leading hand ready to make the next move in your career
* Experience in supervising operators, drivers and labourers
* Good transport and waste knowledge
* General truck and electrical knowledge (desirable)
* Knowledge of earthmoving equipment, e.g. skid steer, loader etc (desirable)
* A positive attitude and desire for continuous improvement
* The ability to work autonomously for extended periods of time
