About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in Bendigo. This casual position involves working closely with a young boy with Behaviours of Concern (BOC). The ideal candidate will have experience supporting individuals with complex behaviours, the ability to implement behaviour support strategies effectively, and a calm, confident approach to challenging situations.
It is also essential that you can fit in well with the existing dynamic of workers in the home to ensure a consistent and supportive environment for the participant.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct support to the participant in line with their NDIS goals and Behaviour Support Plan.
* Assist with daily living tasks, community access, and skill development.
* Implement positive behaviour support strategies and maintain professional boundaries at all times.
* Monitor and document progress, incidents, and outcomes accurately.
* Work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals, and the You Matter D.S. team to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
Essential Requirements:
* Previous experience working with individuals displaying Behaviours of Concern (BOC).
* Competence in following and implementing Behaviour Support Plans.
* Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or equivalent qualification.
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
* Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
* Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Availability for flexible, casual shifts including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and school holidays as needed.
